East Ayrshire, Glasgow and Edinburgh cohorts are inviting partners to join them on a Learning Journey.
In Edinburgh the managers invited local health and social care colleagues to hear more about MHL before travelling in small parties to care homes across the city. During the day everyone heard first-hand about what is working well and how life for residents, relatives, staff and managers is changing. The day also provided a platform to identify and agree on some actions about what needs to happen locally to further enhance the quality of life of those living, working and visiting care homes.
In East Ayrshire the managers are creating a digital story ‘our home life’ that will be shown as part of a wider dialogue about what needs to happen locally to support care homes to meet the challenges of reshaping care for older people in East Ayrshire.
In Glasgow the managers will meet with colleagues and partners in health and social care, the care inspectorate and the voluntary sector to share their experiences of the My Home Life programme and facilitate discussion around ways of further enhancing relationships that help to promote quality of life in care homes. Later in the day residents and staff from care homes across Glasgow will come together for reminiscence singing and fellowship.
